A considerable slump in demand for the Apple iPhones is being tackled with an aggressive marketing and manufacturing strategy. When asked why Apple Inc. is optimizing its production in China and not in the US, Ives stated that the manufacturing cost of the iPhones in China is much lower. In addition, China brings more stability to its demand and supply chain and makes Apple products more affordable.
